-2 Energy Regen Sword???
Hello, a friend of mine got an very interesting sword. It is not creatable with mods/inscriptions cause the ''Inscription'' On this sword is 15%dmg -1 energy. He put a Zealous on it so it got to -2 Energy. Now my question is: is there any use for these kind of items (I thought maybe an warrior build that doesnt use energy) and are there other kind of uncreatable mods which you could possibly get other then this one?

Any situations where +15%/-1eregen items are ideal would be very obscure. Anyone interested in the damage boost would just go 15^50 like always given it has more or less 100% uptime with no penalty. Even putting that aside, there are other options I'd much prefer to use, such as 15/stance. As such, you'd run it for the energy drain which is obviously an odd thing to do. Can't really think of a situation where you'd do that. It would protect you from Energy Burn/Surge but that's not a good enough reason.
As for other bonuses which don't appear as inscriptions, there's +15%/-1 health regen and +15% without any requirements or penalties (this one hasn't even dropped on uninsc items since 2005). There may be others on caster items but I don't know them off the top of my head.

I like the mod for adrealine based builds!
Drop wise tho 15/-1 Energ and healt are rather rare drops and more of collector items then usable items.

Fun Fact.
-2 Dual Vamps were occasionaly used in top GvG battles as tactical suicide weapon. The way it functioned is that if you were very low HP, and know you would be killed be OP Team, then it would allow you (when the timing was right) to kill yourself before a certain minute marker so you would res at your base, rather then laying dead on the floor for 2 minutes. |

and in halls but none of that can rly apply anymore nowadays lol, like u could suicide urself at 6:01 and then be able to fuse the ghost for a few seconds without losing ur hp, just an example.

of course you can make own builds like i do, and use it for a build based on less or no energy
who knows, maybe it can be great for certain, now unknown builds not all builds have been made, as many use a few or only 1 build all the time and when making own builds, you can easily base your build on this weapon, just gotta find and try the right skills i'd love to have that kinda weapon, its just that i never get these double zealous and vamp weapons (i'd love to have 1 vamp + 1 zealous-ish weapon, like vamp health steal and dmg+15% -1 energy regen on the same weapon) have fun with it (if you get such weapons) |

unfortunatly I don't think there are, actually im almost certain there is no way to make a build around a weaponset like this to full take advantage of the mods.
So ye, unless anet changes something a 15/-1 energy weapon will be useless other than collecting purposes. |

damage skills, but less energy cost
and i dont only make builds around certain skills or weapons, but also chars, so themed chars like saito from rurouni kenshin anime (only 1 example) i just play around with skills i think fit best, much more fun than endless dungeon/faction stuff too many skills in GW1 (unlike GW2) to not create and try around many builds |
